Young Pipeliners International

The Young Pipeliners International (YPI) is an association of current and aspiring young professionals working in the pipeline industry. Their vision is to be the recognized energy pipeline forum dedicated to the career development of young professionals, in order to ensure a sustainable future of the industry. YPI will strive to achieve this vision by being the prime conduit for formal and informal training, mentorship and networking.

Young Pipeliners Panel: Peering down the Pipeline – Monday, Sept 26, 2016

Please join our panel discussion by young pipeliners for young pipeliners as we discuss where the industry is heading, where it needs to innovate, and hopefully, as pipeliners, what can we be optimistic and inspired about in the coming years.

YPAC/ASME Initiative

Exclusive Pipeline Lifecycle Guided Tours

Who: Those that fit in the following demographics: High School Students, University Students, Early Career Professionals and General Interest (please inquire)

When: 10:00 - 13:00, Thursday, September 29th

Where: Telus Convention Centre

Description:In partnership with the International Pipeline Conference and DMG Events, YPAC is hosting exclusive tours at the exhibition. We are looking for university students and early career engineers interested in the pipeline industry to learn the diversity and depth of the pipeline industry.

Benefits as a Participant:

  • Increased awareness of pipeline industry organizations including YPAC, CEPA and ASME.
  • Greater understanding of the key industry stakeholders including regulators, suppliers and operators.
  • Attend the International Pipeline Exposition free of charge with guided tour.
  • Exclusive presentation from renowned industry experts.
  • Establish a network of key industry contacts and potential future employers.

Participants will obtain free entrance into the exposition. Participants from Edmonton will be provided transportation (arranged bus) to Calgary. Out of town participants will be provided hotel accommodations.

Itinerary: The guided tour will take place for a half a day with the remaining time available to network with peers and explore the exposition. There will also be a networking event at the evening of September 28th.

YPAC – 2016 IPC Poster Award

The purpose of the Award is to recognize a young pipeliner who has submitted a paper and presented a poster at the International Pipeline Conference 2016 (IPC 2016). This will draw attention to the young professionals in the pipeline industry, the current challenges that the industry is facing and the work the Young Pipeliners Association of Canada (YPAC) is doing.

Eligibility

In order to take part in the competition the applicant should satisfy the following criteria:

  • Be under 35 years old, or have less than 10 years of experience in the industry
  • Have a paper accepted by the IPC 2016
  • Register the accepted paper on YPAC website
  • Present a poster on the accepted paper at the IPC 2016 Poster Session

Award

Award details will be provided in upcoming weeks. Past IPC YPAC Award was a free participation in the Rio Pipeline Conference September 2015 (transportation, accommodation, registration, travel insurance, and visa fees covered).
